Very nice

In true girly fashion, myself and two of my girls watched the Emmy's on TV last night and loved and hated the winners/losers and what they were wearing. I am such a evening gown junkie. Not that I ever wear them, lol -  I just love admiring them. Some of my favorite things from the awards last night:

and I DIE for this dress, even though it would look horrible on me!

Wa-kulla? Wa-koola? Wa- what?

This weekend myself and some friends decided to spend a relaxing day in Wakulla Springs, just south of Tallahassee. I love going out there and just enjoying my surroundings and the good people I love to be around. I felt like I was in fifth grade all over again taking the boat tour rides around the river and taking pictures of the gators, birds, and snakes. A good time was had by all.......except when the group would incessantly make fun our friend Blake and her oversized hat. Never mind the fact that I own the very same hat....just saying....

some fun pictures from the day :)

In such a good mood today

It's funny that whenever I'm in a really good mood what I love to listen to is some good ole' country music. My true southern colors are showing through, I know, but I can't help it. I don't like the "poppy" coutnry at all. I'm more of a deep southern twangy kind of gal. People like Clay Walker, George Straigt, Gary Allan or Josh Turner. I could listen to any of those men any day.

I mean -  can you blame me? What woman doesn't love a sexy voice and a good tush in a pair of nicely fitting jeans, am I right?

ok, maybe just me. maybe it's just sexier when they sing....

Cheeseburger on a doughnut? Why not?

plus

There is just something so wrong with someone thinking combining a cheeseburger and a doughnut to make a new "sandwich". But apparently Krispy Kreme thinks it's a great idea!

"The Krispy Kreme Cheeseburger, which I will attempt to make at home the next time my wife isn’t looking, consists of a Krispy Kreme glazed donut, sliced horizontally like a bagel, with a cheeseburger in the middle......

.....As one reader on The Huffington Post, commented, “They must test market these concoctions on stoners.”
To which another reader replied, “No, it’s stoners that think them up.

Grinds my gears....

So this past friday was "Friday the 13th". OOOOO, scary!

Well I have unfortunately, in the past, have actually had some really bad experiences on Friday the 13ths, but it can all be chalked up to coincidence, or what have you. Well My (bad) luck struck again. I got home and my roommate informed me that someone(s) had stolen our patio furniture. Oh wait, let me correct that, stolen some of our patio furniture. You see we have a first floor aprtment, with a screened-in porch. A few weeks ago part of our screens had been taken down due to repiars to the outside facade of our building. We never thought for one moment that with these flimsy screens down for a couple of weeks that anything would happen, especially to our measily furniture.
Guess we were wrong! We had four run of the mill green plastic chairs with a mathcing foot stool that looked somehting like this (minus the table) :

In addition to these chairs and footstool I had also purchase a small round glass table. On Friday my roommate returned home and later discovered that three chairs had be stolen. THREE. Who takes three chairs?!
I mean if you're going to rip us off, at least take the whole set. So now we are left with one chair, one awkward looking table and a footstool.

This really grinds my gears......

So happy!

I am the official owner of a Nikon D3000 camera! I have been dreaming of the day I would get this camera for the last year. Now that I have it I'm like a kid on Christmas morning everyday, haha.
So far I only have two lenses; nikkor 50mm and nikon 18-55mm. I reallllly want to 55mm - 200mm nikkor lenses, but that ridiculously expensive piece will be purchased at a later time.

I took my first 50 shots or so over the weekend on a quick day beach trip to Port St. Joe Beach. The weather was crummy for the first bit we were there, but I got in a solid hour of good shots and  I'm pretty pleased with my test shots I got. Here are a few, completely untouched...

You are my sunshine

I've been feeling rather nostalgic lately. I don't really know why or when it started, but it's been taking over slowly but surely for a while. The last few days I've been thinking more and more about the relationship I have with my father.
It's no secret that I have ALWAYS been a Daddy's girl since day one. My father has two daughters, my older sister and I. I was much more of a tom boy than my sister growing up and I always loved doing things with my dad that traditionally he would do with a little boy. Sure I loved dressing up and playing house, but I LOVED going to the woods with my Dad, playing with the BB-gun my mom didn't know he taught me how to shoot, fishing whenever possible, and watching football with him every weekend. I think some of my favorite memories of us together is driving around aimlessly with him when I was a little girl in his Bronco on the weekends.
It would always start out with him saying we were going to go visit our Uncle Bob (yes, I have a great uncle Bob) and inevitably we'd end up driving around back roads and woods for HOURS. Sometimes we'd end up at a lake, or the coast and he's let me run around like a wild child while he shot the breeze with whatever old timer was around. He'd always tell me these stories of when he was younger about places he'd been, things you need to know about the area if you want to fish here or there, or all the crazy characters he had met over the years. And let me tell you, my Dad has a MILLION stories to tell. I always loved that part of having an older father. My Dad was retired by the time I could drive while most other kid's parents were freaking out about turning 40/45/50 at most. I now often find myself closing my eyes and thinking about those careless days when I'm trying to relax. I will always be a Daddy's girl. He was, and continues to be, my partner in crime in my family and it breaks my heart to see him slowing down so much in the last couple of years. I will always get nostalgic whenever I hear the song "You are my sunshine". He used to sing it to me on those days in the truck or when I was scared. I will always treasure those days. I wonder if he ever knew how much it meant to me then...

You Are My Sunshine
My only sunshine.
You make me happy
When skies are grey.
You'll never know, dear,
How much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away

So close!

FSU Football 2010

Coaches

and this just cracked me up (from fsu fan day)

Memories!

The above ring is of Ryan Sprague, who was an FSU football walk-on in 1996. He earned a scholarship by the end of his first year, and started every game of the 1999 12-0 season. Sprague is selling a book he wrote titled "Grateful: From Walk-on to Winning it All at Florida State", and the forward is written by Bobby Bowden.

I personally knew Ryan from about 98 to 2000. He is an amazing person and a lot of what he (and his now wife) said to me while I was a member of the church youth group has stuck with me through the years. He and and his wife are examples of truly great people. And, no, they have no idea I am writing this.

Wishful thinking...

If you know me, then you know my great love for fabulous shoes and purses. I love them, but their price tags do not always love me or my measly budget. :(
correction
BIG :(

I decide to torture myself and look at some of my favorite websites and look at the stuff I most definitely CANNOT afford, and probably will never afford. A girl can dream, right?

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Saddlery Sophie bag (retails on piperlime for $478.00)
Linea Pelle, Dylan Messenger (retails on piperlime for $385.00)
Dolce Vita, Noah (retails on piperlime for $180.00)
Juicy Couture, Anita (retails on piperlime for $250.00)
Cynthia Vincent, Berkeley (retails on piperlime for $395.00)
Elizabeth & James, Linda (retails on Piperlime for $340.00 $159.00)

Le sigh, I will continue to dream.....

The southerner in me is showing

I am a firm believer that most problems can be solved by three things
1. Duct Tape
2. WD-40
3. The Internet (this being added in within the last 5 years, of course)

This should not be shocking considering I am from the south, and on many different occasions I have been able to use one or more of these items to fix something that has gone wrong and/or broken. But even I realize that not ALL things can be fixed using one of these things, but my fellow southerners (aka- rednecks) seem to not follow this last part of logical thinking. These select people just seem to take things a little further than the average person, and for this, I get a good laugh.

Had a front end collision? No problem!

Couldn't fit everything inside the moving truck? No problem!

He really had it coming after he spilled the last of the booze.

and for all those dads who couldn't figure out how to get those darn diapers to stay on!

oh, and to think, these are just SOME of the things that I found.

all photos came from White Trash Repairs. I encourage you to please enjoy all it has to offer.
